  20. Tim Says:

Yes, you’ll be able to follow all the tutorials except the one series on dynamics.

  21. Karl Says:

bought these this afternoon, great pace and very clear. My only frustration is on this tutorial I don’t seem to have an orientation option parameter in the inheritance effectors panel when set to linear so I can’t really finish it off. I’m using 11.5 but it doesn’t seem to be in 10 either? Is there a preference or something I should change?

  22. Tim Says:

If you don’t have the orientation option, then you could update to 11.530. Choose Help > Check for updates, then install the latest version.

If you don’t want to update, you can just rotate the effector. The falloff defaults to the Z axis so rotate the effector so the falloff is along the correct axis.

    Hope that helps

  23. Karl Says:

cool, thanks for that Tim, i’ll give it a go this evening!

  24. Jake Says:

    Hi

I’m having a problem with MOCAP tutorial. I imported an FBX file that I got from TurboSquid – but it has imported with joints so I converted the joints to bones but I lose the animation on the character.
Is there anyway I can keep this animation or transfer it onto the bones?

    Cheers

    Jake

  25. Tim Says:

    Hey Jake,

You should be able to just link the joints in the Tracer object instead of bones. Is there a problem doing it that way?

    cheers
    Tim

  26. Jake Says:

Thanks Tim – I tried that but I don’t get any splines from the tracer
    Any ideas?

  27. Jake Says:

    Tim

Got it working – If I switch off traces vertices it makes the splines

    Jake

  28. Marc Allen Says:

    Hi Tim, Great tutorials; thanks!!!

But, I’m having the same issue as Jake, above; on the MoCap tutorial.

You mentioned, in the movie, that unchecking “Trace Vertices” rectifies the problem of not seeing the trace; but despite this, I can’t seem to. I’m using version 11.5 of C4D. The FBX file did bring in joints & not bones.

Also, on your version of the Shader Effector, when set to linear, you could define the orientation under “Offset”; mine didn’t have this option.

    Hope you can help.

    Marc

  29. Marc Allen Says:

I’ve just opened the project on my laptop & it works fine…I may have to reinstall C4D on my Mac maybe.

    Cheers,
    Marc

  30. Akash Says:

    wonderfull gifts from the pro.
    Thank you so much.

  31. Cool4D Says:

    Greatings Tim and Everyone

Hey Tim, i would like to know where could i get that skeleton FBX u used in the Mocap tutorial? Is this file for sale on turbosquid? if yes, can u please provide me with a link? Thanks in Advance

    Cool4D

  32. Tim Says:

@Cool4d If you search for FBX files on turbosquid then you should find plenty..

    Like these…

  33. Cool4D Says:

Thanks for the link Tim, actualy i tried some of those ad was’t able to open them up in C4D 11.5. I will read back ur advice and try to make it work. However i was attracted by ur skeleton simply because of his look. The FBX files from Turbosquid looks so diferent but i guess i just need to learn more about FBX…Anyway, thanks for the help.

    Cool4D

ps: I saw u had a new C4D course at FXPHD, is there any menu that show what its the course?

    Peace…
