I am very excited Tim. I love your fxphd classes and when I found out you were doing a MILG with AE and C4D, I got really excited. Thanks again for being awesome!

  2. HG Says:

    Congrats Tim!
will pick this up for sure.

Am sure this DVD wont disappoint

On Video 2 @ 41:00, You say to hold down Control and drag to layer. This should add all objects, sub objects and tags to a layer. I’m using version 10, when I control drag it still only adds the the main object. Is there another way to add all objects and tags to a layer.

  5. Tim Says:

    Hi

I think the only way to do it in earlier versions is to select all the elements and drag them to the layer, unfortunately I don’t have r10 installed to check.
You can shift click or drag to select many items at once though..

    cheers

    Hi Tim,

I bought Milg6 and I am in the middle of the lessons and happy with it so far – well done presentation Tim., I´ve learned a lot already. But I have some minor problems rebuilding the project on my own. Now my question is where can I ask or send even my project file to solve the issues. At Motionworks or here on your side?

    cheers
    Frank

  7. Tim Says:

Hi Frank, you can send me the files directly tim (a) hypa dot tv

Please try and outline the problem you are having in detail, but as concisely as possible and only send me the files that are directly needed. I’ll do my best to point you in the right direction.

    thanks for your support
    cheers
    Tim

I have only watched a few lessons so far but I’m really digging it so far. Nice work and thanks!

    Hi Tim;

I’m an AE user but 100% a noob when it comes to C4D. Unfortunately I missed the FXPHD C4D 101 course this semester(doesn’t look like its offered in the October session). Is MILG6 geared towards C4D beginners, or does it assume you know your way around? I would love to start learning C4D but wanted to make sure investing in that product will be a suitable move for someone with my experience. Appreciate the info.

    J.

  10. Tim Says:

    Hi

To be honest you will need some experience with C4D to follow along with the MILG training. I’m sure FXPHD will re-run the c4d101 course again in the future, unfortunately I have no control over when this may happen.

    Thanks for your interest.

  11. Nik Says:

    Hi
Sorry if this is a stupid question
    I’m following MILG6 using a G5 quad OSX 10.5 4gb Ram, C4d 11
and the renders are only using 100%, and ignoring the other 300%
so the times I get for renders are much longer than yours in the video
I’ve chosen 4 render threads in preferences
do I need to configure something else to make C4d use all the cpu’s
    Cheers for the cool training

  12. Tim Says:

    Hi

C4D should automatically use all available processors or cores. Perhaps you should contact Maxon directly regarding your machine specs and check if it is still supported, I’m sure it should be, but can’t give you the official answer.

  13. Nik Says:

Thanks for the answer….I made some changes- halved the polygons of the sphere, and doubled the radius of the cylinder, and then i could see that the computer was rendering ok using all cores.. the original settings were completely stalling the machine… thanks again for the awesome training..

  14. QuentinB Says:

Do you talk about how to eliminate the transparent line that shows up when using multiple object buffers to separate things? This is an issue that’s really been bugging me, and minimax just can’t help on this one, it just makes it worse lol.

  15. Tim Says:

    hi

I don’t think that is something that I specifically cover. You can normally get around this my matting each buffer and render in it’s own comp and then using Alpha Add as the composite mode when combining several of them, again in their own comps.

  16. QuentinB Says:

Thanks Tim! I will give alpha add a try, that maybe just what I’m looking for. ^_^ if so, I will be one relieved camper.

  17. QuentinB Says:

worked like a charm ! Thanks Tim! You wouldn’t happen to have a solution from getting obj sequences into C4d other than epla?
