Stairs Alternating Colour

I was asked a question on www.fxphd.com how to alternate between two colours on a set of stairs that someone had built.

I came up with three simple solutions that use the shader effector, the color shader and the multi shader.

I thought I’d share the file here.

I hope that some of you find it useful.

Neat, or you could just copy the cube and make it a different color. and have two cubes in the mograph object.

but this i guess it more flexible

    Thank for the tips

I have a question regarding the multi shader. I have a psd with a lot of layers and I want to use each layer as a separate color shader in the multi shader. Is there a way to bring in the psd to Cinema and distribute the layers into a multi shader?

    Thank you

You can use the To Layers button if it was separate images in a sequence or a movie. I would either use an Action in PS to separate the layers to individual files and then do it that way, or open it in AE as a comp and output a movie and use that.

That’s what I was thinking… these all seem like extra work
