Random Cloning
Someone asked me yesterday how to create randomly coloured clones using MoGraph.
The simplest way is to use the Random Effector.
In the Parameter Tab under Color, switch color mode to ON
If you find the default blending mode too dark, you can switch it to ADD mode
Or you can increase the strength of the effector…
To make the colours change over time, choose an alternative Random Mode such as Noise.

Thanks Tim, just what I needed.
I’ve been wondering, is there any way to use effectors to apply a random color from a subset of colors (such as a range or gradient)?
i am quiet new to c4d and i might be missing on something here but i cant get the colors to appear randomly although i did the above steps as mentioned. I am using the 10 release and it doesnt jst say On in the color drop down instead its “Color with effector alpha” “color no alpha”, Effector Color and Alpha and Effector Color No Alpha…. all of these options not working for me….
kindly remark. thanks.
Hi
I don’t have r10 installed to check this. But if you check my old site, there is a file there you can download that was created in r9.6 that shows random clones on a Grid Array. If you open that then it should help you solve the problem.
